Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable, flexible clothing is recommended for ease of positioning but I can work with whatever you show up in!
Note: for cold laser and shockwave I do need direct contact with the skin of the region of injury.

Does chiropractic hurt?
The majority of patients find chiropractic adjustments provide relief of tension and pain. There sometimes can be mild discomfort when working on a tender region or trigger point, but I will work within your comfort zone.
Do you offer alternatives to manual adjustments?
There are different techniques I can use instead of traditional manual adjustments if the patient would prefer a different approach, such as the Activator adjusting tool.
What is the initial visit like?
On your first visit we will discuss your complaint, review your medical history, and do a specific physical examination. If time allows and it is not contraindicated, we will do treatment. Treatment consists of soft tissue work, adjustments, and home care/lifestyle recommendations. Sometimes I may recommend the patient to see their medical doctor as necessary or refer a patient to see another therapist (physiotherapist, RMT, acupuncture, kinesiology, naturopathy). Although I am in solo practice, I have many local recommendations.
What are subsequent treatments like?
We will do a brief re-assessment to determine your progress and then get right in to treatment.
What is an extended subsequent treatment?
This provides double the time; it is good for more complex cases, treating multiple regions and combining treatments, such as chiropractic with cold laser or shockwave therapy.
How many sessions do I need?
This is dependent upon the specific issue you are presenting with. After your assessment I will come up with a diagnosis including a personalized treatment plan. Treatment plans will be adjusted depending on the patient's response to care.

What ages do you treat?
I treat both children and adults, from ages 4 and up.

Do I need a doctor's referral?
No referral is needed to see a chiropractor.

Do you direct bill?
Direct billing is available for most extended health plans.
